About Guided Meditation
Guided Meditation classes are a process by which participants learn ‘concentration-without-tension’ techniques under the guidance of a trained instructor. It is form of stress relief in which practitioners cultivate visualization and mental imagery such that they can recreate sensory perceptions in order to increase awareness of the present moment.
As receptivity grows, the mind’s eye develops along with its ability to focus. Attention may be directed to the inner landscape of the body, the space that surrounds it, a sound, an object, the movement of the breath or the attention itself.
